Ridgeway Plaza is a small commercial complex located in Mississauga, Canada, and serves as a hub of youthful debauchery. The vast parking lot is a congregation for fireworks, subwoofers, flirting, drifting, dancing, and fighting. It is notably an epicenter for Muslim youth, a quasi 3rd where they can partake in fragments of what is otherwise considered “forbidden” nightlife culture. A central element of the Ridgeway experience is cars—and the use of cars as a currency of freedom. For many of these suburbanites, access to a vehicle marks the beginning of their Hannah Montana double-life arc. Whether it’s backseat hook-ups, second outfits stashed in the trunk, or street racing, cars provide a temporary sense of autonomy: a confined, mobile space for brief self-expression and honesty.

This speaks to a larger phenomenon of autopia, where, in the absence of youth-oriented spaces and in the presence of late-stage capitalism, cars have become sites of protest, defiance, and dissent. Geezr and I have curated a mix that seeks to embody the adrenaline of disobedience—the intoxicating high of rebellion. This is an anthem for cars packed with inebriated teenagers, music blaring loud enough to ensure they'll have tinnitus by their 50s. For those of us years removed from that feeling of euphoria, let this mix transport you back to that liberating state of an underdeveloped brain, craving nothing but recklessness and dopamine-fueled danger. Vroom vroom, bitch.
