Blossom of Iran with Shared Frequencies: Online Solidarity Protest
Independent community driven radio Shared Frequencies hosts a month-long open invite online radio protest in solidarity with protesters around the world fighting against oppression to bodily autonomy and basic rights.
“The fight against patriarchy is a global one and one that must be intersectional, intentional and international.” - feminists.co
The online protest will be held every Monday from 17th October until 7th November 2022 online. Each Monday will be headlined by Iranian artists who aim to shed light on what is happening in their country. Shared Frequencies founder Atefeh Karabi, who is half Iranian, testifies “Minorities, women and the youth are just a few whose lives are targeted and the entire country is facing violence including internet shutdowns as the leaders attempt to hide
their guilt by blaming foreign interests and Western influence. This is a global issue, not to be ignored where we see patriarchal societies ́ attempts to oppress women ́s right such as the fight for abortion rights like what is happening here in our own state.”
