SpinKraft is inviting for this issue Casablanca based Techno producer & DJ Codex. A musician at heart, he started by playing guitar and bass since he was 16, then got into DJing and electronic music production when he was 20.

INTERVIEW:

1- What inspired you to get into electronic music and dj-ing ?
>Thom Yorke's boiler room back 2012, it sucked so bad, but I wasn't into DJing back then and was more interested in playing musical instruments, it introduced me to boiler room and DJing as a whole...

2- What artists caught your interest lately ?
> Steve Hauschildt for his unique kind of ambient music, loscil for probably the same reasons. I listen to a lot of ambient music.

3- What is your particular approach for preparing a DJ set ?
> I have a huge digital music collection, I'm still trying to organize it as much as possible, I have playlists by themes and mood, or whatever category makes sense to me, when I'm playing somewhere in front of an audience I try to imagine what the context is gonna be like and try to prepare accordingly, I like to have a playlist ready but I very rarely follow it, once you're in there and trying to read the room new ideas always make more sense that whatever you had planned. For a prerecorded set like this one, I'm very much influenced by the fabric series, the narrative aspect is primordial and my music taste is all over the place in term of a specific kind of electronic music. So the idea is to tell a story while showcasing as many different genres of techno.
