French-Colombian DJ based in Marseille, CHYMBA was born and raised into Afro-Latin rhythms from Colombia (salsa, cumbia, champeta...) and Latin America (son cubano, merengue, mambo...) as well as music from the african diaspora such as reggae, samba, kompa, zouk. Later on, he developped a passion for the music universe from the 70's like jazz, funk, rock and hip-hop, just before he got involved into the soundsystem culture with friends and discovered rave music, house, techno and UK bass. As a DJ, he makes the link between Caribbean and South American dance music with West African sounds such as Soukouss, Hi-Life, Rumba Congolaise, Semba, fusionning these genres with electronic music, Global Bass, Dancehall, Kuduro, UK Funky, Jungle, UK Garage & more... His show "Tumba Fronteras" is a space for sharing music from all around the world without any boundaries.
